The Templar Residence
A Dialogue Between Past and Present
Housed within a landmark three-story mansion built during the Ottoman and Templer periods, this apartment carries the spirit of Jerusalem’s history in every arched window and terracotta roofline. With its soaring ceilings, solid stone walls, and original wooden shutters, the home bridges time, honoring its past while embracing a contemporary way of living. Inspired by the time period, I created arched ceilings and doorways throughout the apartment, echoing the building’s architectural language and bringing continuity to its historic charm. The renovation preserved authentic lines, colors, and materials, reinterpreting them with modern craftsmanship and quiet elegance.
Working with clients who became dear friends made this project especially meaningful. Every element was designed to balance authenticity with comfort: handcrafted woodwork, natural stone, and soft, muted tones create warmth and depth, while modern detailing ensures effortless livability. The result is a home where history and modernity coexist in harmony, a timeless space that feels both rooted and renewed.
