Arch Living

Every Corner a Story,
Every Arch a Memory

Nestled in Jerusalem’s historic Greek Colony, the arch house is a home that bridges centuries of craftsmanship and culture. Originally built during the Ottoman period and now fully restored, the residence retains its soul through its original arched ceilings, solid stone walls, and hand-carved architectural details. The restoration honored the home’s authentic character – the original arches were preserved, while the stone archways and powder room were meticulously reconstructed from remnants of the original structure. Every ceiling beam, texture, and surface was revived to reveal the timeless beauty of Jerusalem’s architecture.

Designed for a client returning from abroad in search of belonging, the home offers six bedrooms, an expansive living room, an enormous dining hall for entertaining up to fifty guests, and a vast chef’s kitchen connecting to an entrance hall worthy of a palace. Throughout, every corner holds a new discovery: layered textures, subtle lighting, and crafted details that invite exploration. The custom three-meter-high solid oak doors, handcrafted by a Middle Eastern artisan working entirely by hand, stand as a testament to tradition and skill.

The palette is rooted in the local landscape – earth tones, terracotta, and honeyed stone echo the hues of the Old City – while bronze, alabaster, and carved oak add depth and refinement. From its restored ceilings to its handmade stone “rugs,” every inch of the home tells a story of revival and reverence. The result is a residence that feels timeless and alive, where history and craftsmanship coexist in perfect harmony.
